Dr. UONG KIMSENG

Dr. UONG KIMSENG, founder and served as Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of Maxima since its inception in 2000 till November of 2011. After restructuring and strengthening of the company governance in 2011, he has been appointed to serve as company Chief Executive Officer, which he is currently holding. Prior to his work in the private sector, Kimseng served as a Government official from 1995-2002 in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ministry of Rural Development. In February 2006, he was appointed as Advisor to the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, a position which he still holds.

 

He earned his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Preston University, USA in 2005. In 2001, Kimseng was granted a scholarship from the Australian Government to pursue his Master’s degree at Victoria University of Technology, Australia and obtained Master of Business in 2003. In 1995, he graduated from the Faculty of Business in Cambodia and obtained Bachelor of Business Administration.

MORTEN KVAMMEN

Morten is the CEO of SBI Royal Securities, the leading underwriting and investment banking firm in Cambodia. He is also a founding partner of Cambodia Capital, a financial advisory and investment firm which was combined with SBI Phnom Penh Securities in 2011 to form SBI Royal Securities.

Prior to founding Cambodia Capital in 2008, he spent 6 years in the Middle East where he set up and managed the Delta Partners MENA Telecom Fund, a $100 million private equity fund. Morten started his career as an investment banker in New York and London and holds a degree in Finance and Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from INSEAD. He also served an officer in the Royal Norwegian Navy’s submarine fleet.

STUART ALAN BECKER

Stuart Alan Becker was born in Camp Zama, Japan in September, 1961 and grew up as the son of a US Army officer, living in a variety of US locations and later spending 15 formative years in Alaska.

After a 25-year newspaper career around the world including 7 years in Hong Kong and writing for newspapers and magazines such as The South China Morning Post, Forbes and Infrastructure Finance.

In October 2010, Becker was invited to join The Phnom Penh Post as has since served as Editor for Special Reports, developing publications on relevant topics of the day including what’s new in high technology, the service and training sectors as well as, recruitment, national days and reports that come out on the same day as meetings, conferences and exhibitions, such as the Cambodia Economic Report on October 11 and the Cambodia Rice Report on October 17. These special reports for conferences are often based on win/win agreements with the conference organizer.
